Casting Coaches

Just gave out the final bottle of Scotch to my casting Coaches.

It seems they prefer Glenlivet 18 and Dalwhinnie 15 year.

I think I will stick with what Fred has.

Cheers to you all.

Bob, Don't know! But I'd love to find out.

Only Bummer thing is all of Washington and Oregon have State owned stores. You can only purchase 'hard booze' out of these.

The good news is (at least in So. Oregon) is the State figured out how much money was 'driving to California' and really upped their selection ... at competitive prices.

"A good thing!"

Is there a single malt shop in the US?

If not, does such exist in Scotland that ships to the US?

Fred, here is a business opportunity. Does your bank finance startups?
Shipping whisky to the states is very expensive, I looked into it to send Fred Evans a pressent, resorted to sample size sent as mouthwash samples, recently your customs took an unhealthy interest in one of my parcels and opened every bottle.

Look at http:/ /www.scotchwhiskyworld.com/ if you are interested

Bob, can't speak for Candian stores (also State run)

But many of our 'stores,' especially the larger retail outlets in California, have a large selection of 'airline sized' bottles. And, per oz as Willie notes, not 'cheap.'

Just had a Good Visit from Bob Meiser with a 'six pack' of 'airline size' bottles of some of the best 'beverage' about. Some I've had, some will be completely new. Wonder if these will survive the Christmas Week?

Juro,

Here's my favorite Scotch. I'll add the details since you'll grok it.

We had just finished a week at JavaOne presenting a Java based OS for handheld devices. We were all stoked because of how well received the OS was received at the show. (If someone brought us an iPAQ we installed the OS free. We had people handing us unopened iPAQs to install the OS on. They didn't even want to see the Micorsoft OS.)

To celebrate the CEO took us to a nice resaraunt. I ordered salmon and was warned that it would be a little underdone, but that was the way the chef made it. I started drooling since thet is THE proper way to make salmon. I also got asparagas and mashed potatoes with artechoke hearts.

The marketing guy and company president were arguing about scotch and whether Lagavulin was the best. To decide we all ordered doubles. :D

I don't know if it was the excitement of the week, but that was the BEST meal I've ever eaten. Since then I've had a thing for Lagavulin.

Mmmmmm, Maker's Mark. Considering how reasonably priced Maker's Mark it is a steal. I really like Maker's Mark.

I once took a bottle of Maker's Mark as a gift for the host of a New Year's Eve party. He wouldn't touch it. He ONLY drank Jack Daniels. Wouldn't even try it. Since then, I'd prefer not to drink Jack Daniels...

Today was perfect: a couple of snifters of Talisker after lunch, a Series R cigar, and watching the Bears go 7-3 beat the Panthers while my wife was shopping at the Oak Brook mall. :smokin: After I log off, I am packing our gear bags for a day on the water tomorrow. I love fall.

David

P.S. - Lynn drove home.
