Why is jungle cock so expensive?

Individual feathers go for quite a bit of money. Whole capes less per feather but really expensive...

Not sure, but usually pelts that are used for fishing, BEP, Golden Pheasant, Silver Pheasant etc, are several years old (sometimes up to 5) before they are killed and skinned.

That's a lot of work.

I´m sure you are aware of the fact that wild junglefowl are an endangered species and the reason one should always ask for certificate when shopping online, whether from the breeder or CITES. As previously mentioned, to breed these to have perfect nails probably takes years and lots of space and high quality food. A few hundred bucks is actually pretty cheap considering all this

Mitch literally owns the world's supply of these birds.
He doesn't need them but he likes the control he feels owning them.
He GAVE me a AAA grade cape a week after joining the Drake, he didn't know me at all. He gave another to Vito I think.
The thing is, he sets the price.
And he's a real shyster unless you know him.

just got a big pile of tying stuff through an auction. going through the stuff I found a JC cape which paid for the entire lot by itself. Good score !

Now I have two capes I will hardly use :hihi:

I also have more hooks then I know what to do with, some high end tying tools amongst all the other materials

I think JC is partly so pricey because they know us fisherman will pay the piper for them. Same goes for BEP
