I have a Meiser 13045MKX & have had it for just over a year. When I’ve taken it out I have been struggling with head grain weights, I just couldn’t find the exact combination that I liked. I also have a Meiser 11724C that almost casts itself, it’s effortless & that’s what I wanted out of the MKX. So the other day I put on a 300 Gr. Scandi Spey Lite, thinking would way be too light & wow, it’s a cannon, it just flew. It was a different experience, a different feeling, It’s like where have you been hiding! I wasn’t going to give up on it, It took a lot of time, buying selling heads, talking to & pm’d many people, but all worth it. I was told it was the finest, best casting rod I’ll ever own & I have to agree. Also more trout in the last couple of days than in the last year, good casts catch fish.

Curious to what heads you tried prior to the 300ssl. I like a 330 compact scandi ,a 360 switch line for tips. Tho I’m batting 8th in the lineup.
I’d like to get a 330 Compact Scandi & try it. I have a RIO 325 Scandi Body & a Nextcast 350 Troutfinder F1 which on my scale weighs 339 grains & both cast fine. I tried the Spey Lite just for the heck of it, because I had it & it shocked me how well it cast. I think this rod will cast just about anything, for me it seems to be the lower end of its grain window.
