A tough thread for me. I lost my best fishing buddy and friend last month. It happened much too soon.

The river is much more lonely this fall. Honestly hard to even find the motivation to get out at all.

Rufus on his last river adventures this summer. Miss you buddy.

This is my girl, my best fishing buddy. Trips me out that this beautiful creature just follows me around wherever I go. Based on how much she loves wading for trout/boat rides/swimming, I was really afraid she would hate sitting on the bank watching me stand in a river all day. Turns out she loves that too.

Lots of nice looking dogs, especially the labs. My last one has been gone for a while. Missy was named by our daughter. She wasn’t very good at fishing or hunting. Toward the end, she was better at watching TV with my wife while resting in my recliner. I never did take my dogs on the Deschutes River because of the rattlesnakes. Our son-in-law is allergic to shedding dogs, so this was our last one.
