This is my Rosie, lookin a bit knackered after all the swimmin!

 

No pics but a funny story. I was fishing one time on the Miramichi and another fisherman on the other side of the river had his dog with him. Every time this guy would hook and play a fish, the dog would bark his fool head off. Annoying but kind of funny at the same time. Land and release the fish,.no more barking.

 

Labs - IMO, best (only) breed there is 😁
My current yellow lab is a real fish hound. She keenly looks for rises when we’re trout fishing together, and is always curious, but well behaved when a fish is hooked and landed. Every landed trout gets a close look and sniff prior to release.

A tough thread for me. I lost my best fishing buddy and friend last month. It happened much too soon.

The river is much more lonely this fall. Honestly hard to even find the motivation to get out at all.

He’s gone now, cancer got him 2 years ago. We hunted and fished together all over North America. He took many trips to BC with me.

Salty Old Dogs

 

This is my girl, my best fishing buddy. Trips me out that this beautiful creature just follows me around wherever I go. Based on how much she loves wading for trout/boat rides/swimming, I was really afraid she would hate sitting on the bank watching me stand in a river all day. Turns out she loves that too.
