I've adjusted them all myself, so I'm confident I just need to tighten something.

 

Never experienced it before. However, there is screw inside the reel which can be seen after spool removal. Its role is to set keep minimum and maximum tension of the drag ( which can be manipulated) at constant level. May be it is a bit loose. This screw was introduced several years after original Control was launched . Remove spool and take a photo, which you can either post here or send it to my PM.

 

Yup, I love that screw! You can make them super robust for GT's and level it out for steelhead without redoing the whole drag package.
The drag system on the controls is superior to the HD's in my opinion, having owned both. They have the potential for a lot more drag!

So, I grabbed an Allen wrench and tightened up my drag knob. It felt
Like the screws were somewhat loose, so I hope that solves it.
Again, I'm certain it was from my tinkering around
