Going to the CW next week and was wondering if it would be worth taking a day to check out the Grande Ronde?
Not asking for your specific spots, just some advice and suggestions on techniques and gear for the GR.
I will be swinging and skating small flies on the CW.
Thanks!

The GR is the opposite of the CW, small and intimate vs the large and glorious. I love both. While you could fish the same rigs, you can also happily fish a 5/6 on the GR and not be undergunned- smaller fish and lighter flows.

Same flies should be fine.

The river is very walk/wade accessible and you won't have any trouble recognizing good water. Lots of pullouts and paths down, and lots of camp spots. You'll be in both WA and OR so either have both licenses or be aware of your location.

Bogann's and the Bar in Troy, are the only food available, so pack a cooler.
