As many of the fly tyers on here are aware I have a large collection of classic salmon flies I believe most are from the 1920s - 1930s most from Hardy and other tackle makers from Great Britain. I have posted some examples as a means to give many of the fly tyers on here examples of patterns they are tying. I believe I have posted this before but there are new members or tyers on here. The following are some links to Flickr albums showing various flies these are a bit better quality photos than what I often post, I took these a few years ago. Hope all the fly tyers on here can get some use or inspiration from these. Happy tying.

I must admit to being a bit stunned, not just by the very high quality and craftmanship displayed here, but by the fact that they were a commercial product - meaning they were also tied pretty quickly. This gives rise to an idea: how long would it take you to tie one of these patterns, even if you had all the materials laid out in front of you? Now, imagine doing that for a living. Yikes. Does anyone here know about what these flies went for in the 50s and 60s?
