Fly Tyers Unite for Wild Fish (Native Fish Society benefit)

Fellow Speypagers,

Here is a suggestion for a way to help out a very good organization, the Native Fish Society. Their annual banquet is being held in Portland on April 11, this year. It’s a celebration of their efforts for Wild Salmon and Steelhead and is their primary source of raising funds.
First of all it is a fine event and I encourage folks to attend. ( I also encourage folks to join as a member) They have a whale (sorry) of a good live auction and their silent auction is really fun as well.
The last two years they have members to provide a dozen flies for the silent auction where they have been well received and they’ve brought in a lot of revenue for the night.
Join me in providing a dozen flies for this event? They need be just good solid “fishing flies” and they’ll be scooped up on the silent auction.
There is no need to send them in a box as NFS will provide their own boxes.
Along with the flies they’d like you to include the name of your flies and what species or category: Steelhead, Salmon, Trout, Saltwater etc.
Mail your flies to:
Native Fish Society
221 Molalla Avenue, Suite 100
Oregon City, OR 97045
They need to arrive no later than Monday, March 16.
If you have time to photograph them let’s see ‘em on the Speypages?
Native Fish Society website is: www.nativefishsociety.org

Thanks for considering!
Loren

dozen for wild steelhead

Good news and thanks to all on this project. Consider tying up a dozen for the cause! Each dozen donated is put it it's own box and displayed with the tiers name and put in the silent auction. Can't wait to see what shows up. I was unable to attend last year but I heard there were about 40 boxes and the bidding for the benefit for Native Fish Society was really active.
Thanks again

I talked with NFS and they will display anything from Spey pagers more or less together on the table (boxes will be furnished for each dozen and the tiers name will be listed!) and If I can I'll take a photo that night and post up.

More takers ?

thanks so much

a note from NFS

Hello fellas,
Here is a note from the staff at the Native Fish Society...........

On behalf of the Native Fish Society, we would like to thank those of you who have taken the time to tie flies for our 19th annual banquet + auction coming up on April 11, 2015.
Last year we decided that it would be fun to highlight every day tyers and their "Working Man's Flies". We were pleasantly surprised by the success of those first 18 dozen flies as our guests snatched them up in a heartbeat! Most sets went for well over the $100 price tag we set...all money going back to the fish. We are hoping to surpass that 18 dozen this year and
your generosity is key to our success.
If you would like to donate, there is still time! Your 1 dozen flies need to be in our office by March 15. No need for a fancy box...we've got that covered. All flies will be featured in a short video that will be posted on our website and available for viewing on Vimeo. We hope that you will share in our passion to protect wild, native fish and we greatly appreciate your support.

Thank you,

Native Fish Society Staff
