Congrats for planning to do a DIY trip to the most magic place in Norway: Finnmark Region. Land of the midnight sun, and big atlantic salmon.
In Repparfjord river DIY is about the only way. Walk and wade. Camping along the river, or rent a cabin.
The rental car will be the key factor for all DIY in Finnmark.

As of Vekselv??? Do you mean Lakselv? (probably)... DIY walk and wade, car needed also here. Might also check out AirBNB for Lakselv. Camping along river possible also. Big fish river. Prime time in August. Bring heavy tippet.
