Im considering buying a winter authority for an upcoming David Reid bamboo rod I have in order, I’m getting a 12’ 6/7 fall run. I told David I wanted to get a WA45 and he suggested the 470gr which is the 5/6. I’m probably overthinking it but does anyone else have this rod and use a WA45? Also, what tips would I be best investing in? I was gonna just go with the nextcast tips but it seems odd that the same 15ft tips are used for every line weight in the WA 45, 55 and 70. I would think the smaller the line weight the smaller the tip would weigh…. Unless nextcast is a special breed. I own a FF 55 it’s a great line but their coating is terrible my front loop broke right away. I was wondering if Rio 8wt or maybe even 7wt 15ft replacement tips would be a better option for the wa45 470gr?
