Ran into the local shop for some other stuff, and they had a few.

Wowzer, I hope you like your girls thicc.
Yes, thick they are! Seem a little stiffer in the tip to me but I didn’t cast them. Might be lighter too I think. Only gave em the wiggle test. Surprised at the green metallic reel seats. I thought they were silver or pewter from pics I saw.

I’m almost done building a CTS 10’6” 4wt glass two hand blank. I’ll post a review and photos in a separate thread in the next few weeks.

I don’t have experience with the Echo glass rods, but my first impression of the CTS blank is that it feels a bit more powerful than I expected, especially in the butt section, but I think it’ll mellow out with a pretty deep flex on the water. I’m planning to start with a 330 grain SA spey lite Skagit. More to come…

You might find an Airflo Streamer Switch in about 300-330 too. I fish a 300gr on my 10'6" 4wt Echo Glass switch and it's a great match. It's an integrated line.

Looking forward to your thoughts on the CTS when you are done.

Matt

A couple years back I cast an Echo prototype that was being considered to replace the original. My thought was quicker recovery and less tip heavy than my 12’4” 6 wt original. I wonder if those prototypes are what they are now bringing to the market.

I got the 6110 original Echo Glass that is paired with an Orvis Battenkill IV and lined with a Scandi Body head. It's so much fun on NorCal rivers. I contemplated selling the outfit a few years back, when I lived in the PNW. I'm glad I kept it for Cali.
Thats one of my favorites of the bunch. St. John and a SA Scandi 350. money.

One thing about these rods that, although owners know most seem unaware, is their unique fish fighting ability!
Most deep sea rods are made from high grade fiberglass, so it isn’t just the ‘unbreakable-ness’ of them, but a huge amount of power in the butt section.
Take for instance the new 12’ 7wt Echo glass;
Takes I would assume a 500-540gr Skagit depending on preference. That particular rod would handle any steelhead on the planet, and be a solid choice for salmon up to 25lbs.
Glass is very unique and cool that way!
I have the 12’9” 7wt that is amazing. But I would prefer the shorter 7wt since I have a 13’ 7/8 already,

if anyone wants my Echo glass 7wt, ill sell it to you for the price of the 12’ 7wt

Anyone get The new models out on the water. I’m excited to hear feedback on these. The 6&7wt are primarily what I’m looking for.
