Lower Deschutes Cell Service

I'm heading out to the Deschutes in a couple weeks and unfortunately will need to check in with work during the day. Is there Verizon service along the BLM road down to Macks or would you have to drive back to Maupin?

Sherars Falls is the practical end of Verizon [or any] reception. You occasionally can pick up a text in spots below, but not reliably.

I use a Zoleo to connect when out of cell range. The IPhone 16 has satellite service, but I find it less user friendly than the Zoleo.

One of the best parts of that river is turning onto the dirt road, setting my phone to airplane mode, and popping in an old cassette. Led Zeppelin 4 when possible....

Yeah good luck with cell coverage. Climb up the canyon are drive into Maupin. Unpopular option..Chuck your phone and swing.
