Well, I pulled the trigger and grabbed the 14’ 9/10 G+………some peer pressure from one of our members 🤓 It may sound crazy to have the same rod, but that 14’ Gaelforce is my favorite rod I’ve ever cast. It’s such a wonderful taper! James confirmed with me that they are different beasts, and recommended I keep the original as well, because it will be like 2 different rods. On that note, if any of you ever have a questions, James is extremely approachable and a hell of a nice guy……not to mention quite an expert in the field of lines and rods. You never get the feeling he is being a ‘salesman’, just that he wants you to have what will work best for you. I remeber one conversation even where he said: “how many rods do you need?!” 😄
Anywho, looking forward to do an apples to apples comparison. I’m quite certain I won’t be able to articulate as nicely as Topher has already done multiple times or even add anything to that, but I look forward to sharing my thoughts on it through the fall. Stay tuned!
I’m not sure if they have a casting pond at Bobbin the Hood via Shultzes outfitters this February, but I plan on being there none the less.
