Stronger tip, recovers faster than first gen. Handles a Gaelforce 15M #6 (6/7) 540gr beautifully. For shorter shooting heads, I like 475-ish for short and 500-ish for standard length skagits. 460-500 for scandi. In my hands, it's a true 7. Bridge Wintertide 6/7. It's a powerful rod, but still bends into the cork.
