Love the blue Grizzle.

Black and Blue seem to be the best Atlantic Salmon colours, I wonder if its something to do with eye cones and what the Salmon see? Any comments from those that fish for Salmon other than the Atlantic species?

HI.
For me this color Black and blue works in winter and spring, rainy or cloudy days. Browns and steelheads seem to like it.

Those intruders are very nice. Used similar ones years ago with good results. I'd fish them in the fall when flows were down and water temps dropping below 50F. Built mine on heavy shanks with minimal materials so they'd sink easily. Sometimes wouldn't even need a tip...

My favorite color fly on the Babine and Bulkely rivers in B.C. I like a bit of copper flash added to the black and blue.

I'd swing those with a lot of confidence any season. When fishing a sink tip, regardless of season, I'll tie on black and blue probably 75% of the time. If I could only fish three flies for the rest of life, a black and blue Hobo Spey would make the short list.
