I have too many rods in this class so I'd like to trade my Winston 9' - 8 wt. for a 9' - 9 wt.

It's a custom made Winston Boron MX II four piece 9' - 9 wt. with an original Winston green & brass metal tube and Winston rod sock. All in excellent condition as it has seen only occasional use. The builder had never used it when I bought it from him and I have only a couple of trips to the Cape plus a carp trip or two on it. The builder did an excellent on the construction and used quality components throughout.

Pictures are available on request.

I'd like to trade it for a three or four piece Sage, Winston, T&T, or Diamondback 9' - 9 wt. preferably a saltwater version with the original metal tube and sock. I'd be happy to consider an older model as long as it is in very good condition. My current 10 wt. is an old saltwater Diamondback that was out of production when I got 11 years ago, so I don't need state of the art, just something that is in good shape and will do the job.

Any action from saltwater fast to something more like a medium stiff. I'm not picky. My current crop of single handers range from very slow to very fast so I'm used to pretty well any rod action.

Basically I've got to be able to toss a gurgler into a wind and achieve decent distance without it being hard on the old body. My old Diamondback 10 wt. is heavy and a stiff as a poker, but when loaded with the right line, it is very easy to cast for distance with minimal effort.

For distance casting I do like a rod that bends deep and doesn't try to do all of the bending in just the top half.
