Hello. I'm new to spey pages and seeking help and advice. I recently took a Simon Gawesworth spey class-great fun! I'd like to try a light weight spey rod on my favorite trout rivers (Henrys Fork, Colorado) and think a 12'6", 5-6 wt. rod would be ideal. I'm looking for a used rod, a new Z-axis is out of my price range. Perhaps a used Sage or Meiser, or a new Dec Hogan or TFO would do the trick. Advice and offers would be most welcomed. Thanks,

Orret

I think a 6 wt and even most 5 wt spey rods will overpower most trout and are more rod than you need to throw even large streamers. I'd consider the Echo 4 wt. or the light rods (#3-4) by Gary Anderson or Bob Meiser.
