I have this rod with which I intend to use a floating line (once I learn to spey cast). Anyone have any experience with this rod? I have a 6/7/8 WC floater (no tips). I also have a Mid-Spey 7/8 floater (no tips). Does anyone have any other recommendations. The designer at Winston -- with whom I spoke at length, and he is a very pleasant fellow -- suggested that I use about 300 grains (Peter, I assume he means "casting weight") and suggested the WC 5/6.

Hey Peter...

.
The line has a grain weight of 380
According to my Rio catalog the 5/6 WindCutter weighs 330 grns. Did you make a typo or do you have a different source of info?
Take care, MJC
