I have fished those streams quite a bit. They are on the small side and not really practical for a two handed rod. Willow is the largest and probably the best uut of those.

Egg patterns under an indicator are probably the best bet, you you could try egg sucking leachs or flesh flies if you want to swing something.

I'll be returning from Bristol Bay to meet up with a group of friends on the Sept 5th to fish between Cooper Landing and the Anchor River through the 14th. We will be swinging flies, both on single and double handed rods. Probably won't have internet access, but if you contact me via a PM, l'll send you my cell #, if you want to know what was successful for the most part. Silvers should be everywhere. The coastal rivers along the Cook Inlet should have steelhead, but it will be a 4 hour drive for you. You will be driving past quite a bit of good water before you get there.

As for the rivers along the Parks Highway north of Anchorage, only fished them once during king season and it was not pretty, so we have avoided since. Maybe it was just the crowds that turned me off. Reports have been good from what I have read concerning returns of silvers.

Hi BE,

As per our conversation I'll fine tune you when I return on the 27th. Anyone else seeking destination and technique advice for fall trout can drop a PM or e-mail through the website. Most silvers are coloring up in the Valley creeks & rivers at this time but a few bright fish are still entering the systems. As for drifting egg under Indi............... I can't comment on that method because I fish flies :) I have heard that it works if catching a fish is the only reason to wade these waters.
