Hi Everyone,

I know this has been discussed but I couldn't find the threads.

I have a CND Solstice 6/7 13'4" lined with a SA short head 6/7 floater. Before going out and spending the $$$ on a Windcutter or Midspey w/tips I wanted to fish tips with my current line.

Where should I cut the SA short head 6/7 assuming I'll be fishing Rio 15" type 6 and 8 DC sinking tip? Or even possibly T-14...

I don't have a grain scale so I'd have to guess at what length to cut. Should I be approximating the length to equal the same grain weight as the new sink tip or is it more a matter of cutting off some of the floater tip to get to a thicker/stiffer section.

5 feet? 10 feet? 15 feet? :Eyecrazy:

Thoughts and/or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Preston
