Are you speaking of me, cause I am out all winter long with the spey rod on our rivers, I bet I can handle cold better than you. Do you fish with gloves? I only do on the most frigid days, but I always keep them with me.
About the SA 120' Salmon line, why do I need a full 120' line when I am not using the majority of the line anyways, just stays on the reel and doesn't get wet. It then takes away from backing capacity and is useless. If I am going to use a DT, a simple one like used for trout(90-100') in a 10wt is perfect for an 8 or 9wt rod.
Winter is a whole different ball game!
Just some of my opinions.
