I officially joined the hey I snapped a rod just casting club this morning. Haven't heard that sound and took a second to actually realize I wasn't being shot at while seeing the top 2/3 of my rod in the river. A clean break in the rod a couple inches above a ferule. Lucky me. My new summer rod is done after 4 half days. We will see what they can do for me.

No back up rod at least I had fished for a few hours first.

Nothing to report today.

Nah

That is an ole wives' tale. There is usually a reason - a defect, design problem, or trying to do something the rod was not designed to do.
