Old memories here ... but I'd plan on hitting the

Kalama, Toutle, Lewis and the Cowlitz. All just north of the Oregon/Washington boarder and lots of access (or at least there used to be).

Shoot me a "pm" and I'll give you one of the 'worlds best' spey guys e mail address'; suspect he has 'pet names' for most of the rocks in the area.

Can't beat Fred's recommendations for October; the Olympic rivers are out of the way and although the Cascade streams are also in their prime fall phase if you are interested in battling summer runs along the I-5 corridor the Columbia tribs are tops.

Closer to the border are the Green, Snoqualmie, Skykomish, and of course the Stilly.

Don't forget all those great OR streams! There is one that starts with a "D"... ;)

Thanks Juro but the big "D" is a bit out of my way, and I make it there two to three times a year. I had fairly good fishing there in late August. I was looking for info on new rivers a bit closer to my route to BC

Fred, I'll gladly send you a "pm" but I can't figure out what it is

Thanks both of you

Nevada, a "pm" is a private message.

If you go to the 'members' list on the opening page, click, then you get a listing of all members, e mail address' etc.

Or if you just want to symplify your life:

[email protected]

[email protected]

Joan and I have been with aol so long we can actually use our 'real names.' ;)

Another thought on fishing the I-5 would be the Rogue (at Medford) and the McKenzie farther up I-5. Don't know diddly about this river (other than a drift boat was named after it), but the Rogue has fish out the gazonga now.
