I am looking for a vintage yellow fiberglass Fenwick 102-8 blank (8.5 foot one piece for an 8wt line). I would also be interested in a Fenwick FF85 in 3 piece which I understand to be around a 6/7 weight. I am going to strip the rods and put more modern components on them so grip and/or guide condition is not a priority for me. My guess is these are roughly 60s era rods of the Jim Green era at Fenwick.

For background, I am trying to experiment with the classic California coast shooting head set-up for distance. Any other options that folks think would be appropriate would be interesting as well, I am certainly learning on this one.

Just started putting together the components to do a build-out on that same blank, the FL 102-8 2 pc. Picked up the FL102-8, a FL84-5, and 8.5' un-identified blank at the fly shop. The 8 weight is going to my oldest daughter for chasing steelhead on the Grande Ronde next fall. Going to pair it up with an 8 wt. Ambush head.
