In two weeks I will have closed up another school year, watched my daughter graduate w/ her MBA, and married off my youngest. It's been one of those years and my wife has given me the green light to go fish for a week. Unfortunately, after a wedding and a cross country graduation, the piggy bank is rather empty.
So....I'm looking for suggestions on low cost trips that could be done solo. At this time, none of my fishing partners are available, so it will likely need to be either pontoon or boatless. I don't want to go any farther east than Montana, and no farther south than Orygun. I obviously have no reservations of any kind, so I am at a disadvantage. I will need to camp to make it work. I've thought about the Missouri, but think a boat is a distinct advantage. I've thought about the N. Umpqua for summers, but haven't a clue on that fishery. What are some ideas of places that might work given these parameters. I would chase steelhead or trout, I just need me a soul cleansing trip. Talk to me.
