This is my third fly post to the site so I thought I would raise the bar a bit.
Marty's latest SBS made a married wing sound so easy I had to try it. Definitely a case of "looked better on paper".
This is my first attempt at a married wing I am looking forward to trying another. I subbed some wing materials for more user friends materials and left out the topping because I liked the bare look.

EDIT: Heres the other side. It shows the hackle taper quite a bit better. The wing is a bit sloppier though.

I'd consider a longer tail and slightly longer but smaller JC. Just considerations...

First attempt? Dialed it, balance is pretty much spot on. The first thing I look at is the tip tag and tail. Balance begins there and your work is looking good. For me, the wing is just a tad bit long. Other than that the fly is looking good. I would fish it with all kinds of confidence. Hooking a fish on a classic is pure joy. Keep up the good work.
