What purpose, if any, does the rear (back) taper serve on a skagit line?
I am considering building a "mini" floating skagit for a 9' 4 wt rod whose taper and action has already demonstrated it can easily handle spey deliveries with a DT 6 wt line. Thought a 10' cheater might serve well as a body of a line measuring 25'-30'. I can play with the grainage but a rear taper is out of the picture. Crazy?
I value your input. Dave
