I haven't seen too much mention of this rod here. Anyone else have one?
Recently purchased, I finally had a chance to play around with it yesterday. My casting conditions were far from ideal, as I was on a partially frozen pond with just enough open water to form a somewhat decent anchor, and target the un-frozen other side.
With the wee bit of casting I was able to accomplish, I can say that I think this is going to be a fun light trout rod. If you like a full flex, bend into the cork kind of action, then check one out. And when I say full flex, I mean FULL flex. It's a noodle, but recovers quickly. Snaps right back into position to launch that cast where it needs to go!!
The lines tried where:
240 grain Scandi- easily getting that out 75-80 feet.
7 wt. Double Taper (single hand rating)- only managed to get a good turnover with about 60-65 feet of it. Most definitely a good starting point for a long line for this rod!
Thanks,
-Bill
