i stoped in the local shop the other day picked up some t-14 and a cutting chart and here it is

6wt = 15 feet @210 grains
7wt =18 feet @ 252 grains
8 wt = 21feet @ 294 grains
9 wt = 25 feet @ 350 grains
10 wt=28 feet @392 grrains
11 wt =32 feet @ 448 grains
12 weight = 36 feet @ 504grains

i custom cut these tips for my 12' 6" tfo 8 weight
at 18 feet. it seemed a little heavy so i wacked it down to fifteen. for the 6 wt and knocked a foot off and it cast like a gun on the grass. now it's the water test i have a few local lakes i can try it on. is there any comments on these tips that may help me.

thanks again and screaming drags btrout1013...... :devil:

that chart is probably for overhead casting T-14 shooting heads on single hand rods. The shorter lengths will dump too quickly.
