This is my first time tying on the Partridge Mikael Frodin hook. Since the designer is a Swede, I used a wing from that pair of feathers off one of my Swedish Black ducks.
This is the size 3 Partridge CS14/1B (mouthful)
There's an underwing of squirrel to help hold the goose up some.
Fun hook to tie on, pretty short shank really. Seemed to want to either be a big wing or something fast.
I like what you built Matt :smokin:
Very interesting hook , I've seen this hook before however never picked any up .
Those Black Duck quills are sweet :smokin:
who knows, the ducks i keep are a heritage breed called swedish black. they lay and are good for eating, so they make a great farm bird. they also can't fly. they are not all black, but mottled.
I was just checking out the Swedish Black- not the same wild Black Duck as here in the states.
Great fly, either way.
