Hey,
I posted awhile back that I had gone to a Spey Casting course on the Emån River here in Sweden. Pelle Klippinge ran the course and I learned tons. I did manage to hook one but only had it on for 4-5 seconds. But that's another story.

I talked up the great salmon and steelhead fishing we have in the US and invited him to come back with me sometime. He's fishing in Iceland, Ireland, Scotland, Norway and Russia but never in the States. Well next year he wants to put a group together and come over. He asked me to look into organizing it.

He would really like to put on a class or two and possibly do a Clave while there. He's been teaching spey-casting for over 16 years on his home waters. He also has loads of slides and material about everywhere he's been. I dare say he ranks with the best.

I'm from the midwest so I'm leaning towards familiar waters plus Michigan and Indiana. But maybe the Great NW also. I would love to get back to the N. Umpqua or maybe some other rivers.

I'm looking for help in getting this ball rolling. Thanks!

LC, the upper 30 miles of the Rogue will be 'awash'

in Fall king salmon and summer steelhead. Both readily take a fly. Only problem is you feel a 'tweek' on the end of your line and it could weigh 3 pounds or 30.

Several Board members in the immediate area so you would have lots of 'on the ground' local help.

HMMM?

Maybe I'm being misunderstood. I'm not looking for anybody to play host for us. What I am looking for is some contacts. If you guide in the area PM me. If you know of a great place to stay let me know. If you know of a Spey Clave going on next fall tell me when. Please.

On a second note I was on the Lagan River in Sweden still trying to get my first Atl. salmon. I must've seen over a dozen salmon jumping but not one hit. I was also the only one swinging a speyline instead of a shooting head. It feels wierd not being part of that crowd, but in a good way.

LC, I can see your not 'framilier' with the Board Guys..

in Southern Oregon. :D

We consider it a priv. to play host to our fellow board members. None of us are "guides" other than in the vein of "how can we help?"
