You seldom travel to steelhead waters without meeting a speypages member.

Last Sunday on the Kispiox, I had the pleasure of meeting Speyfisher1 and Speydoc at the Forest Service takeout. Mike is a walking encyclopedia of fishing equipment knowledge and Gavin was displaying his newly finished blank, a Meiser MKS 8/9--great cork work, Gavin.

And my fishing wasn't too bad, the best a 38.5 x 19 buck.

Yes , it is always nice to attach a face to someone you have interacted with. My steelheading was not as sucsessfull as yours - a combination of low fish numbers, high (or in one place - very low) water, new water combined with being on holiday and having late starts. However the trip finished on an exellent note when I changed my target to fresh run coho, landing a dozen fish in the 10 to 14lb range.
