Yes, there will be a #2. Several e mails requesting the "we will, won't we."Oh Ya Baby ... (love Emeril on food network) But 'kick it up a knotch.'

Only thing I've been trying to nail down (dumb as it may sound) is what Sunday does Easter fall on so I don't conflict with 'family' as I did last year. Dah, Fred ... Looks like Easter falls in April next year so we're good to go.

Dr. Way Yin and Steve Choate (whose a very!! sharp business man in his own right) have, bless their souls!, agreed to be our instructors again next year. Hay, not bad having # 1 and # 3 in the world as your "guides." :smokin:

Several folks who attended the first 'mini-clave' have already said they would like to do it again ... so brings me to my thought. A "Class Reunion." as well as SCCC#2.

To all the foks who were at #1, e mail me and let me know if you'd like to do a 'class reunion.' Much bigger home by then, so I WILL EXPECT that most of you to stay with Joan and I to cut the cost of the thing as close to zero as we can get. Hay, someone has to keep me in good single malts ... still sipping the goodies I was blessed with in March. :>) Wines on us. (Did he say "bribe?"Naaa)

Dave Kelly and Nate Baileyhave already (no arm twisting here, not my style) have already agreed to help me host Clinic #2. No way could I have pulled this off without their generous help and assistence. NO BS there.

So, back to the "class reunion,' we'd schedule same when there are still a ton of fish in the upper Rogue as this is a 'hunt, ' vs a clinic ... but you'd get lots of that I'm sure.

Thoughts?

Dear God Fred, what a putz... target dates.

Target dates of the 'class reunion,' would be the early weekends of March. For the Clinic one of the last two weekends in March. Either way, if you choose, you'll stay with Joan and I.

Spey Casting Clinic Reunion

Fred,
Count me in. I'm looking forward to it. Maybe those that arrive a day early or stay a day after can slip a bit of fishing in? Improving our casting is always cool but a couple of productive days on the Rogue would be mighty fine. John

For starters a half case of good single malt will

put me in the mood to remember this e mail.

You're in!

Question Jim; would a 're-union' be better in late September-mid October at the height of the summer run season. And the clinic done in the spring. That way we'd be 'chasing' two different runs of fish.

Thoughts?

so Fred will this be a fishing reunion???? If so I think we should fish the fall, althougher smaller in size this run is the jewel of the north west that few know about there are 10 fish days to be had.
nothing would be greater then a dozen "long rods" bent at once .....Nate

Spey Clinic Reunion

Fall sounds good to me. Would give me an excuse to return to the river. :hehe: Just don't schedule it the weekend before Thanksgiving. That is the date for Marriott's fly fair. You and Joan are comming down here for that, are you not?

Fred -

If there's any way I can attend I will do it. I'll be following this thread. Fall is better for me except this fall... all my time will be eaten up by August this year due to sudden family obligations.

You da man!

Sorry I've been 'off-line' for a couple of days so just

seeing these now.

IN THE FYI Dept. I'll be flying over to Europe to see Joan Tuesday the 6th and will be gone until Aug 24th so don't look for posts, etc., until the last week of August.

Lots of good ideas rattling around here on dates for a "re-union," or Heck, lets just go fishing.:smokin: For the summer runs the best months are Sept-October, and the winter runs are mid-Feb to the end of March. (Sounds late but you have to remember the buggers have 150 miles of river to go to get here.

Having said that, as several of you have taken Joan and I up on our 'standing offer,' you're welcome to stay with us anytime and fish. As noted some where else, the new digs should be ready some time in September so tons of room for everyone. Your worst case is an air bag and a sleeping bag ... but probably a real bed.

Juro, THAT WOULD BE VERY COOL if you could attend; darn, if I could "pry" Dana out of BC, we could have two classes going at the same time. With one set of instructors one day, another the second????

Anyway, more of this when we get back.
Best to you all!!!

Darn, log back in here. Several have asked how they can say 'hi' to Joan when she's doing her 'guide thing.' Her e mail address is

Fred,

Have a nice safe restful interesting trip.

If you go to London (think you are are from previous posts) there is a nice fly shop in the West End area. Can't remember the name of it though. Was there three years ago.

Always is interesting to see what the European fly fishing shops carry and their prices. You will probably not find many great buys over there but perhaps can pick up some new ideas, or perhaps a used spey rod to add to the collection.

Anyway have a safe trip.

Best

Hal
