does anyone have any advise on books, DVD's or instructors. i am all the way across the pond in England but hope someone can help.

An Airflo Forty Plus 7wt line will make your little rod rock for both overhead and spey casts. If you can learn to spey cast your single hand rod it will help you a great deal with the switcher. The Rio dvd set mentioned below has some good footage of single hand spey casting.

Some good spey casting DVDs are Rio's Modern Spey Casting 3 disk set. Hazel's Introdution to Spey Casting is also good. Simon Gawesworth book "Spey Casting" is very good.

There are some very good spey instructors in your country. Some can be found here. http://www.redshedflyshop.com/THCI.html

Best thing to do is get out while you're ahead. I'll kindly take that rod for you and give it a good home.

Seriosuly though, if Beulah has an elixer line for that rod I would consider that line first. But, Mike is right, the 40+ awesome for overhead casting.

THere's got to be some sort of spey clave in the U.K., or otherwise find an instuctor. Otherwise order up some instuctional stuff from MJC.
