I sometimes wonder if I am the lonely only, but I am in TX and shoulder my my way into the lakes & rivers here with my Spey rod right along with the rubber worm crank bait guys. I get some pretty strange looks when I tie a streamer onto my sinking tip fly line that is attached to a 13' spey rod and go for it.
Are there any other TX Spey fishers here in TX that check out this site?

It seems that you are!! I'm further south; about 43 degrees south of the equator; below the big island called australia. It seems I might be the only one that plans anything like that here.

I don't know about Texas but over here in the Real Big Orange state I know of 3 guys that use the 2 hander for Trout.
