A Skier, from phantoms. Lots of mistakes, tail rolled but was able to work it some what back in position, body work sucked and wing' s where some what sucky haha . Comments welcome as always

I really like this pattern and you did a fine job with it. Try (if you don't already) Using some smooth flat pliers to flatten the tippets (or crest) stem before tying in so you have a flat surface to tie in. I would have preferred turkey for the wing so it doesn't curve so much but it should fish well how it is. Overall great fly!

Like Josh said, to keep the stems from rolling crush em. I'm too lazy for pliers, plus my flat ones don't work well anymore. so i use my thumbnails to flatten stems with a sort of scraping motion. It works 99% of the time every time.

Thanks for the kind words and tip's will try it on the next one, used to only tie with red now I use white thread and switch to red to finish the head. Yes that's the view from my desk.
