Found this clip via another fishing board; most amazing thing I've watched in ages. Brilliant stuff.

I've seen a bunch of videos with variations on the "carp jumping into the boat" theme, but yeah, this one does take it to the next (uber-ridiculous) level. Still I feel sorry for the carp - even though they are an invasive pest - they are the Rodney Dangerfield of fish.

This was filmed in Illinois and indian carp is invasive species that escaped the river systems and into great lakes putting a great danger to other species especially steelhead. Ithere has been massive killings of these fish recently.

I will try this next summer!

Your right, I had no idea.

There is a market for these carp. Saw a tv show about it the other day. There is some concern that the market will be developed and there may be a shortage of carp in the near future.
But there is a commercial fishery for these things. End up getting 'flash frozen' and shipped to China.

Keep it up!

I'll take swung fly steelhead any day, but if we get those Asian carp in the GL, I'm afraid we'll all be wearing helmets. Rather than a net, I'd prefer a shotgun or a blade. Whole new kind of 'cut bait'.
