I'm going to drag my raft up to the Skagit / Sauk on Sunday. Has anybody been swinging a fly on either of them. Has anybody floated down from Darrington yet this year? How are the take-outs on the Sauk? Any info as to how far the fish are up the rivers?

Second hand information is the upper float (from Darrington to the mouth of Suiattle) has changed a fair bit and has some nasty sweepers and dead end channels. Be careful if you go that way.

Friend of mine and I did the middle float on Superbowl Sunday and had a great time. There is a lot of silt in the river so many of the runs have changed fundamentally in how you fish them. Inside bends tend to be silted up and not very fishable (knee deep silt in some spots) Beaver flats was very silty when we were there. Look for unsilted bottom and fish it thoroughly.
