This is a nice little series about the difference between the Scandinavian and the Skagit systems. It is a 4 part series that is pretty simple to understand for the novice, and it has some great information for the experienced angler as well.

It's obviously not all inclusive, as the history of something as rich as Spey casting would take volumes to "somewhat" document, but I like that it gives a good starting point for the novice caster. Once a certain skill level is attained, most rules can be thrown out the window, but it's a good place to start.
