Jim Williams of Just Reels (no longer operating), but is available to contact through this forum (JRSpey). He used to carry these reels if memory serves. From memory, Cliff was a Captain down south and used to build reels of exceptional quality and durability. They were bench made reels and very low numbers were produced. Usually when you see them for sale, they are more than one and part of an estate. Owing to their quality, an owner would purchase more than one and hold them all for life...

Sadly, I believe that Jim Williams has just passed away.
A great deal of knowledge and experience has been lost with his passing.

That is distressing news...I spoke with Jim on and off through the years and used to look forward to his bi-annual mail-outs with information about the reels he would use/test drive on trips. Last time we spoke was about 18 months ago (I think); I bought a first generation Mako (made by Jack) spey reel from him. He remembered me...I think I was his only customer from Nova Scotia. I hope he's catching fish on the other side as I type...
