Hello fellow two handers,

I've been saving up my coins for a new rod. I have had my eyes on the Scott L2H 11' 6" Switch. There is both a 7wt and an 8wt in that length. Upon giving them the "shop wiggle" they both feel light in hand and crisp. As for the action, that would require some time on the water to figure out.... My question is:

Does anyone have any experience with these rods? I'm wondering what weight heads people like?

I would be strictly using this rod as a small two hander/spey. I like scandi/scandit lines mostly. I am currently leaning towards the 8... it seems light enough that I wouldn't be sacrificing anything in weight to get the extra casting/fighting power. (This rod will be used on Great Lakes tribs, but I am thinking ahead and I believe I will be out west relatively soon.

I have the l2h 1257. I really like it, I had it in the classifieds and just decided it's one I won't let go... As far as lines go (switch may be different) but I prefer a 510 if I'm doing sustained anchor. Scandi or Skagit and a 480 Scandi seems good if your using your poly weight in the cast. Have fun and I hope this helps!

I picked up the 11-6 7wt recently and it has quickly become one of my favorite rods to cast and catch fish on. I lined it with a Airflo Skagit Switch 450 and that was it for me. I have a very compact and bottom hand stroke, but I wouldn't say is fast and the action of the rod is smooth and stayed right with me through out the cast. I would say a person with a fast stroke a 420 line would be better. The rod weight with this model rod to me feels closer to true rod weights than most. My experience with fighting fish with the 7wt, has been very enjoyable, even with the smaller 14 to 18" trout. The largest I've caught has been a 21" and it handled it with ease I'm looking forward to larger ones in the Fall. :D I hope this helps.

I have the 6wt of this rod and it's great! The 7 or 8 would also be great choices.
