I was never satisfied with the saddle bag rod holder option on his rafts and squeezing the rod between my legs gets old.
I had 2 of the Scotty rod holders I used with a pontoon boat I no longer had. Turns out there are various mounts shown right on the packaging box for the rod holders. I never bothered to really examine the box until recently.
Luckily, the rail mount clamps fit the foot bar of his rafts perfectly, at least on this model. So I purchased a couple.
I know, look out for tree branches.
I hope this idea helps someone who owns his boat--John

That setup would be great for harling. I did not say that.

You don't knuckle the rods when you row a long stroke?

Nice idea. Small warning - one side of my foot rest came off last summer (same boat as yours), it's the rubber boss thingy that the metal tube inserts into. Had to re-glue, so far so good.

harling is sort of like pulling plugs, but with a spey rod. Something to do if you float thru juicy water on the way to the next hole.
But I didn't say that, either. :smokin:

So if a guy pointed those rods the other way, a fella could go harling (trolling?)pretty easily, not that I said that either.

In my case, the dark side karma would probably direct me straight into a sweeper with the biggest fish of my life on.
