I got a great deal on some laced hen necks in steelhead colors so I was like why the F not

BAsically a similar template to some of the past posts of mine...

I used a pair of tented hen feathers for the shell back and a 1/2 stripped one for the body hackle...throat hackle are long black wispy fibres stripped from a n old hat

Accents of amherst and estaz..tag of foil braid

Simple stuff..they really move well in the water and keel perfectly on tension

Hope you like and thanks for looking

Nice! And I like how you're using the Ward/Howell loop method instead of looping a hook on the back. Do you feel the vertical loop on the rear helps keep things in line?

Thanks!

They are shown without the stinger hook which will loop onto wire opposed to the ward/howell method..i like both ways personally

Great looking flies!

Can you comment a little more on the laced hen feathers. I'm not familiar with them.

Thanks.

Laced Hen

Thanks!

These are necks vs saddles

Ill take a coupla close ups when i get a chance

Some of the feathers are perfect size for wings, small thru large while others are more suitable for soft/body hackles or collars
