26" brown within the first 1/2 hour and 3 other takes by noon. Middayish 12/1 temp dropped and big bump in the CFS. I loved it but the fish did not seem to enjoy it so much. Averaged about a tug a day and no more landed fish the remainder of the week. Stuck mostly with my confidence flies but did change tips, location and presentation often to try and figure out the puzzle. WAY better than work. Hope to be there in FEB.

The beauty of December up there is the crowds have died down. And you could be the only soul in an area with noone else in sight. Now the fish have to cooperate and you earn every one you get.

Good to hear you had some tugs.

Confidence! You can still get them on the spey rod and swung fly in very cold temps. Just keep the faith and enjoy the challenge. We've had double digit landed days in 32F water on GL rivers.

Great job I fished it with the pin last week managed 5 hookups didnt think they were that active to try the spey rod.

Wooly, i was up there the week after u. I managed 4/5 steelies and one leftover coho, all on the swing. Did the best at first light and just before dark. It also got better as the flow came down throughout the week.
