However, when I need to beat the wind or get sinking leaders and big flies out this is the go to rod.
A great rod with the AFS 7/8 head and the 15' Spey Versi floating leader. It handles a wide range of Skagits 500 and up with the 10 or twelve foot Sinking Versi leaders or T14 and T8.
Guys that are good with the long lines do an excellent job with this rod.
The rod's ability to handle a wide variety of line types and head grains is similiar to the Sage 7141. Except this rod is more fun to cast and less tiring.
