I traded mine off to a guy here a few years back who promptly flipped it. I asked about it a few times but "my" rod seems to be gone. I never should have let it go...

If I remember correctly when the rod was first introduced George Cook nicknamed it the "Deathstar" and it stuck. Usually when this rod comes available the "Deathstar" label is referenced,

I have not cast the rod in sometime but I was using a 450 scandi Airflo.

I had one sold it and promptly regretted selling it. Bought this one about a year later. Now I usually use a 5 or 6 weight rod and this rod just sits in the closet,

I throw a 480-510 scandi with poly leaders on mine. I've replaced it with a method and ignitor rods but I can't get myself to sell it. For Skagit stuff I'd use a 550 with a tip.

I should add that is a very clean looking deathstar. Good luck on the sale. I'm sure it will find a good home.

I left mine in my dad's garage in Florida as a dedicated redfish surf rod - not a bad decision, either.

I'm old school. I still use a Delta Long Belly 7/8 with a Maxima leader. I've tried to like Scandis on it, and they just don't do it for me...
