I have this Sage Rod that I got for a gift? Not sure what I would use it for, because it seems really big for Red Fishing but maybe not? It is a

Graphite 9140-3 DS GFL
#9 Line 14'0" 8 1/2

I was offer $400 dollars for it? YA or NA?

Welcome to the board.

It is an earlier spey rod by Sage and, in the view of many, one of their best early efforts. If you are going to learn to spey cast and fish for steelhead or salmon, hang onto the rod. The rod has a number of enthusiastic users on the Board. If you use the search function you can find line recommendations for it.

Well I really need to sell it because I only fish Saltwater here in SC for RedFish and I'm not sure that would do me much good. Oh well. Know anyone that wants one? Thanks

Post the rod

on the Classified section of the Board and on the corresponding on for the Fly Fishing Forum. I would be spurprised if you do not find a taker.

I would think that finding reds in tidal marsh would be a challenge with a rod like that. It may be better on the surf, I just figure most flats fishing is more sight based.
