Well I just dropped some more coin on another “switch” rod, 8119 method. I have been leaning towards 8wt Two handers this year to toss larger flies a bit easier and land fish quicker. I have heard the methods are pretty beefy rods, hoping this 8119 isn’t over doing it for my great lakes fish... I still want to enjoy the fight! I found a good deal (imo) on this like new method at $350 shipped. Opted against the 13’ish 7wt spey I was considering previously in hopes that this could be a big gun for larger rivers and also work on the smaller systems locally. I have a 510g AF skagit switch, 480g AF rage, and a 400g opst commando for my heaviest heads... anyone thrown any of these on the 8119? Hoping to avoid purchasing more heads even though these are probably on the lighter side for the rod... thinking 540ish is more in the ballpark for skagits.
