I'm wondering if anyone has tried the new Sage Fli 8140-4 two-hander. I saw the review from Mark Bachmann at The Fly Fishing Shop but would like to hear some more about it. I'm currently fishing the 9141 but I want to find something for a backup rod and the price seems to make sense. Any opinions?

I too was curious about that rod, but I think the Scott A2 1308 would get the nod. Unanimously great reviews and opinions, and at the same price point. I just wish they would turn down the volume on the reel seat. Too much "bling-bling" for me. Black would have been more tastefull.

I have yet to try this rod and also am very curious. However at our clubs raffle in December I won a 4wt 9ft sage FLI (there was a choice of 8 or 4 wt) and that rod is remarkably fast and well made. If the 2 handers are anywhere close to the quality of the one I have I am sure the new owners would be very pleased. BTW I gave it to my wife as a xmas present. :)
